And don’t forget to ask at your local public library for help, too (just don’t steal or write on the library’s GED books, please!).

Today, Akron’s mayor Don Plusquellic appeared on the Diane Rehm show to discuss the financial strain on cities. Although he stated the City of Akron currently receives 10% less in revenue than before the recession, they are well positioned to be a model of economic growth as the economy continues to recover.

I agree there are many scams out there taking people’s money for what they claim is a high school equivalency diploma.

However, McGraw Hill’s GED websites are a companion to their GED preparation materials. Their books & the website offer “practice” tests to help folks see if they are ready to pass the official GED and if not, what they should study to prepare. Definitely not a scam but a valuable community service!
